A small hobby, a desire to drive, a passion for creativity and a love of all things in the kitchen, crafts, décor and design.
That about sums me up in a nutshell. I have spent most of my adult life learning and growing in the business world (technology, analytics, strategies, planning, program management). And, it's something I'm pretty good at.
But, I have always had this yearning for something more, something creative and something bright. I love parties and celebrations and everything that goes along with it. From crafting the perfect venue and throwing an amazing event, this is my outlet. I took a leap of faith to start something to satisfy that with the creation of Crumbles Bakeshoppe!
My Story
In late 2018, I took a cookie decorating class from a friend of mine who has an amazing local business. While my initial intent was to learn how to decorate cookies for a large personal event, my first attempt was a complete disaster. I ended up (almost) giving up. I was frustrated and didn't think I had it in me. I didn't try again until almost six months later, and while I was able to perfect my baking techniques (I have always loved to cook and bake), my decorating was less than desirable.

The event was creeping up , so I decided I had better kick it into high gear. I tried, and tried, and tried. I gave TONS of delicious (but oh, so ugly) cookies away. I started practicing, researching and spent countless hours watching videos and re-learning (hotel rooms, flights, travel - you name it!) Needless to say I was able to meet the goals I set for the the event and it was just what I had envisioned. As a result, people really enjoyed the cookies and started to inquire about ordering. At first, I thought there was no way I could fit this in, because the amount of time I spent making cookies felt like I was a new mom all over again. But slowly (and with continued learning and practice), this little hobby has turned into a beautifully rewarding small business that is so fulfilling.

I love the happiness my creations bring others, the balance and peace I feel when I'm in my groove baking and decorating, and the satisfaction I feel by making someone else's day special. ...And the deliciousness that only baked goods can bring.

While I continue to learn and expand my horizons (I am an entrepreneur at heart), the focus now is decorated sugar cookies. As the business continues to expand, I have partnered with a dear friend of mine who is able to keep me on track and focused on logistics. And, our team has grown to just over 10 people. We are both continuing to learn and look forward to introducing new additions and creations.
We don't have a storefront, and I'm not sure that is in the near future, but we are expanding into boutique businesses and operate out of a commercial kitchen so we can serve our ever-growing list of customers, corporate clients, and making people happy! In the meantime, enjoy peeking around, and be sure to try us out!
